Barry Diller is financing my new favorite tool – Bloglines.com

Since InterActive Corp. (IAC) bought AskJeeves.com, I have just realized the “Diller” umbrella has quietly procured many of the Internet survivors including CitySearch.com Expedia.com, Match.com to name a few.

Bloglines.com is my RSS aggregator of choice to follow this blog world – at least for now.  It is turning out to be a great research tool on a variety of topics as well.

While Craig speaks about and certainly believes in Citizen Journalism, he (not totally alone, mind you) is quietly strangling the newspaper advertising model as Newmark adds grease to this 20 year-old slippery slope.

Well, here is my Inaugural launch and this is the reason I have finally hopped into the Blogosphere: Blogging Goes Mainstream: Is Your Company Ready?

With Robert Scoble and Steve Rubel as just a few of the speakers, it was an enlightening event.  From my days at CompuServe to my own dot bomb experience (another post...someday), I had not imagined the growth and network effect of what this new, yet simpler web medium might bring to the business and cultural fabric.
