My new release, The Blog Ahead, uses the Sony DRM rootkit story as a kind of parable about what can happen when a company loses sight of its customers. Now comes an article from MP3.com suggesting that CDs with rootkits embedded within also suck the power out of your battery much faster than those without these creepy devices. Also, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which sues Sony over its flawed DRMs, has now created a site guiding one through the intricacies of their class action lawsuit, including information on how to submit a claim and a list of the affected CDs.
