The March 27, 2006 issue of Sports Illustrated has an article by Chris Ballard entitled “Writing Up a Storm,” which assesses how the Internet and the blogosphere have affected sports coverage.  If you’re a subscriber, you can access the entire article online, but if not, you only get the first few sentences.  The article lists some prominent sports bloggers: Aaron Gleeman, Mark Cuban, Jason Quick, Will Leitch, and SI’s own Luke Winn.   The article also points the way to some less savory sports gossip sites: Hoops Hype, Pro Football Talk, Bad Jocks, Sports Pickle, On the DL, Soxtalk, and Athletics Nation.
