Central Desktop addresses the question of why e-mail popularity continues to soar despite its clear inferiority to newer solutions as a collaboration tool. Methinks the arguments presented here will diminish in force as more and more of the information workers become accustomed to these new modalities.  I can recall a time when e-mail was considered a harbinger of a scary new world.
